Jill Arbetter

As a violinist and artist manager with more than 20 years of experience Jill Arbetter brings her vast knowledge of the performing arts and passion for supporting the next generation of artists to the Elmar Oliveira International Competition.

Jill has performed as a violinist with the Bamberger Symphoniker, Berlin Symphony Orchestra, Berliner Symphoniker, the New World Symphony of Miami, Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra, Radio Symphony Orchestra Berlin, Staatsoper Berlin, Zurich Opera, and others. As a chamber musician, Jill has collaborated with world renowned musicians such as Guy Braunstein, Alban Gerhardt, Leonidas Kavakos, and Nikolaj Znaider, and has participated in noted festivals, including Switzerland’s Davos Festival

and the Yellowbarn Music Festival in the US. Other notable appearances include CBS Sunday Morning with Charles Kurault and the Lifetime Achievement Awards at The Kennedy Center, where she performed for President and Mrs. Ronald Reagan, and honoree, the esteemed violinist, Yehudi Menuhin.

As owner of Arbetter Artists, a vibrant artist-management agency, she represented many leading conductors and instrumentalists. In this role, she has presented many international tours and recording projects for the Zurich Chamber Orchestra, the Belgrade Philharmonic, the Budapest Concert Orchestra, and for numerous other orchestras throughout Europe.

Adding to her expertise as a performer and artist manager, Jill served as the Director of the Fine Musical Instruments department at Skinner, Inc. in Boston for over three years. In this role, Jill focused on liaising with string players, teachers, and students worldwide.

Jill received degrees in violin performance from the New England Conservatory of Music and the Mannes College of Music, and was also a fellow at the Tanglewood Music Center. In addition, Jill is on the board of the Florida Intergenerational Orchestra, based in Boca Raton, and is the Artistic Manager for the Santa Barbara Symphony. Jill is married to a veterinarian, and loves to spend time with her two rescue dogs, travel, and play chamber music.
